GARY DINEEN MEMORIAL ALUMNI GOLF TOURNAMENT

On Sunday, June 29, 2008 we will be holding our 12th annual fund-raiser golf tournament. The name has been officially changed in honor of Gary Dineen who lost his battle with cancer on April 1, 2006 to the Gary Dineen Memorial Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at Oak Ridge Country Club on South Westfield Street in Feeding Hills, MA 01001. The purpose of this tournament is to help raise funds to support the Junior Falcons Hockey Program and keep Gary's legacy alive. All of the proceeds of this tournament will go towards helping the young men and women in the organization combine hockey with academics to open academic doors to higher education and to develop into strong citizens. JUNIOR FALCONS GIRLS PROGRAM BACK

The Jr. Falcons girls program held their tryouts last week to surprisingly good numbers and great talent levels. The girls program will be playing in the NEGHL next season with our U-19 team and U-14 team vying for a National division spot and our U-10 playing in the American Division. "After speaking with Carl Gray, I am excited about the opportunity for our girls to compete in one of the best girls league in the Country run by Carl Gray and his staff", stated Lincoln Flagg.

After tryouts we decided to put together a U-10 team due to the amount of U-10 girls that showed interest and were at tryouts. We are still interested in finding a few U-10 girls and a couple of U-19 full season girls to compliment those we already have. If girls are interested please call 413-786-6063. Program Director Lincoln Flagg had this to say, "We are excited about the great number of quality players that we had at tryouts. I am excited to be involved along with coaches Jon Maylot (Falcons Girls coach), Rich Carney (Suffield High School Boys Coach), Steve Beudoin (Fermi high boys assistant coach). With the backing of Springfield Falcons GM Bruce Landon, we are looking forward to being able to place our girls in an environment that is going to be conducive to their development as student/athletes. With our track record of producing quality players and people and our record of placing our girls players into Top Prep Schools such as Deerfield, Loomis, Williston, West Minister, Choate, Northfield Mount Herman, The Gunnery, and Pomfret , to mention a few, we look forward to helping those girls that want to be in this program. With the women’s college coaches that I personally know I am already making calls to promote our players and help them to achieve their goal of playing college hockey", Flagg stated.

We hope that people realize the difference between the Jr. Falcon program and other programs in the area and the difference in philosophies they have. We are here to help our players find out how good they can become as students, hockey players, and people. To be a World Class athlete you have to be more then a good hockey player. You need what coaches call the intangibles. The girls that we select for our program have all of those qualities which is why they are so sough after by prep and college coaches.
